Cameron Diaz and Keanu Reeves Could Reunite for Jonah Hill’s Comedy ‘Outcome’
Cameron Diaz’s Hollywood return is gaining momentum. The 51-year-old actress is set to make a comeback with Netflix‘s aptly named action-comedy Back in Action later this year, starring alongside Jamie Foxx. New reports have also suggested Diaz will reunite with Keanu Reeves for Jonah Hill‘s upcoming Apple TV+’s dark comedy Outcome. First acquired by Apple Original Films in April 2023, Hill’s latest flick is co-written by Hill and Ezra Woods, and will also see Hill sharing the screen with Reeves.
The upcoming film stars Keanu Reeves as Reef, “a damaged Hollywood star who must dive into the dark depths of his past to confront his demons and make amends after he is extorted with a mysterious video clip from his past”. While Empire is reporting that Cameron Diaz is in talks to join the cast, unsurprisingly her role remains undisclosed. If onboard, Hill’s Outcome will mark Reeves and Diaz’s first reunion since their hilarious team-up in Feeling Minnesota way back in 1996!

Additionally, details about Jonah Hill’s character (who’s also starring) are still under wraps, but with top talents attached, this project is definitely one to keep an eye on, especially for the Reeves-Diaz pairing alone. In addition to directing, starring, and co-writing, Jonah Hill will also produce Outcome with Matt Dines, his partner at their production company Strong Baby Banner, along with Ali Goodwin.
The new film is latest is one of many new projects Hill is collaborating with Apple Original Films on, following an announcement that the pair are also developing a Grateful Dead biopic with Martin Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions. Scorsese will helm that project from a screenplay by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, with Jonah Hill starring and producing.
Currently, the release timeline for Jonah Hill’s Outcome remains shrouded in secrecy and we still don’t know if the final script is locked or if the casting is complete. Adding to the mystery is the film’s distribution strategy. While Apple Original Films secured the distribution rights of Outcome, it’s unclear whether they’ll aim for a theatrical release before hitting Apple TV+ or go straight to streaming. Given Apple’s recent focus on theatrical releases and their investment in the project, a cinema run before streaming seems likely, but official confirmation is pending.
